Quite interesting to determine the fact, “Floating hills of Pluto”. Ofcourse, Planet Pluto is almost covered with ice and icebergs throughout.

According to the study, there are many floating hills and small peaks in the water surface. Some floating hills are made up of ice and water, which floats on nitrogen ice glaciers.

The reason behind this floating nature is, the water ice(floating hills) is less dense compared to nitrogen-equipped ice(frozen sea), thus, these water ice hills floats in a sea of frozen nitrogen ice, which is similar to movement of icebergs in Earth’s Arctic Ocean.

These hills are fragments of rugged uplands which are broken away and carried by nitrogen glaciers into Sputnik.

This is happening in Pluto’s Sputnik Planum, a wonderful heart shaped feature appearing.

These hills measures to about several miles or kilometers across the water surface.

Several images have been taken to recognize this pattern and formation from NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft.

NASA’s New Horizon spacecraft obtained these hills ranging approximately 9,950 miles(16,000 km), which is one of the classic World News Articles.
